In Remembrance of Lewis Frantz

Lewis Frantz Jr.

Lewis (Louie) J. Frantz Jr., 80, entered into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on Monday, January 16, 2017 at York Hospital with his loved ones gathered at his side. Born June 28, 1936, in Wrightsville, he was the son of the late Martha and Lewis P. Frantz Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy R. Frantz.

Louie was a retiree of DuPont Emigsville. He was a man with many collections, however he was a true green and yellow collector of John Deere. His passion was to collect old farm equipment and restore it to its original beauty. He spent many of his days in his shop working on his restoration projects and looking forward to his next project. Louie was a strong man with a love for life. He looked forward to live every day to its fullest and enjoyed visits from his friends and family when he would be working in the shop. He was excited to show his visitors what project he was working on and enjoy the conversation they shared. Louie had an unbelievable knowledge that many were eager to tap into.

Left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Linda Cunningham and husband Scott of Shrewsbury, Darlene Hess of Hellam, Luann Cook and husband Barry of Hellam, a son Jeff Frantz and wife, Cristine of Windsor, six grandchildren, Aaron Cunningham, Joel Cunningham, Jessica Hess, Jeffery Frantz II and wife Reama, Jesse Frantz, and wife Sara, and Joshua Frantz, sister Marie Rentzel and husband Bob, two great-grandchildren and his most beloved puppy, Rufus. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Frantz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York, with Father James T. Menkhus, OFM Cap. as celebrant. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow in Kreutz Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of Louie's and Joy's favorite charities, The York Cancer Center Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Rd. Suite 194, York, Pa. 17403.

Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
